A Bengali Indian-American outlier must introduce her Bengali girlfriend to her parents to fit into her family, despite having latent feelings for her American best friend.

Amidst the chaos of her daughter’s 10th birthday party, Asha must face her estranged mom who shows up unannounced bearing the ultimate gift.

Lean and Sonali, a lesbian couple married for nine years, are ready to take the next step: having a child. They’ve long discussed whose body will carry the baby, whose egg to use, and have just chosen a donor who seems like every Asian parent’s dream. As they prepare to share the exciting news at a family gathering, the unthinkable happens—one of them suddenly changes her mind, putting their carefully laid plans and their relationship to the test.
