Turgun Zohidov

After retiring, former Red Army commander Iskhak Sherov returns to Kyzyltash, the town he helped build. Seeking a peaceful life, he becomes embroiled in a conflict between residents wanting a public garden and the mayor, his old comrade Namazov, who opposes it. Sherov ultimately resolves the conflict in favor of the townspeople.

A lyrical film story about how a helpless foal named Almaz was raised by a boy named Murat into a magnificent racehorse, which was once taken to the city for the racetrack. Seeing how cruel the jockey was to Almaz, Murat secretly takes his friend back to their native mountain pasture at night.

In the late 1930s, Yuldashev, a journalist, came to one of the sanatoriums in Uzbekistan. He wants to write an article about a warrior hero. But everyone he talks to refers him to someone else, someone more worthy.
