A TV play based on A.S. Pushkin's play "The Stone Guest" staged by the Leningrad State Academic Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin.

The TV movie is based on several dramatic episodes from the life of the red diplomat Leonid Krasin.

The main character is the chekist Fyodor Dyatlov. He is in love with his friend Hippolytus' sister, the educated, intelligent Irina. At the same time, he harshly pursues the younger brother of Hippolytus and Irina Valerik. He is also a security officer, but in his youth he was tempted by a bribe. Fyodor investigates the case himself and puts Valerik in the hands of higher security officers. His possible happiness with Irina and his friendship with Hippolytus are at stake. But Fyodor is a real fanatic of the communist idea. For the sake of principles, he will do anything.

This voyage along the Northern Sea Route turned out to be difficult for Captain Gleb Volnov. He is worried about the crew - cadets who are going to sea for the first time. He is also worried about the mechanic Bitov, the father of his deceased friend. He went to sea after a long break: no one wanted to risk taking a sick old man on board. Gleb is also going through a personal drama. His new friend Captain Levin introduced Gleb to his old friend Agniya. But Gleb insulted Agniya with his indifference and realized too late what she means to him.

Leningrad State Drama Theatre's staging of Pushkin's three "Little Tragedies": The Covetous Knight, The Stone Guest, Mozart and Salieri

Kazakh scientist and traveler, Chokan Valikhanov studied at St. Petersburg University and was well known in Russia. When sent to war against the Kazakhs, Valikhanov was forced to make a choice between Tzar and native land.

The movie is based on the the same name novel of the Nobel Prize In Literature Winner Mikhail Sholokhov. The action is taken place in 20-30-s years of the XX century in the Russian countryside going through an uneasy process of collectivization.

One of them, Ensign Kolokov, disguised as Uncle Vitya's janitor, settled not far from Andreika's house.

Based on a play by a German-Jewish exile in Moscow, Friedrich Wolf, and directed by an Austrian-Jewish exile in Moscow, Herbert Rappaport, the film tells with the story of an apolitical humanitarian Jewish doctor and his politically-aware, fascism-resisting son, an intern, as their lives become entangled with the Nazis’ rise to power in 1930s Germany, where they live and practice.
