Wendi Bergamini
Wendi Bergamini hails from Northern California, born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. When dared to audition for a solo line in her middle school choir concert, Wendi met the challenge, and succeeded in singing “The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes…”in their auditorium holiday concert. This was soon followed by other school solo performances of “Wind Beneath My Wings” and other early ‘90’s classic hits. Wendi earned her BFA in theatre with an emphasis in acting from UCBS’s acclaimed west coast program. She went on to perform with major regional companies, including CLOSBC, and The Western Stage, before quickly finding her way to New York City. 6.3The Sound of Music Live! is a television special that was originally broadcast by NBC on December 5, 2013. Produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the special was an adaptation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Broadway musical The Sound of Music, starring country singer Carrie Underwood as Maria von Trapp, performed and televised live from Grumman Studios in Bethpage, New York. Meron felt that if the telecast were successful, the concept could become "another kind of entertainment that can exist on TV." By her request, Underwood's casting as Maria was personally endorsed by Julie Andrews, who starred in the 1965 film.
