A deep buried secret threatens the inhabitants of Stone Gate Penitentiary. When a petty car thief is sentenced to the prison, he encounters more than he expected. Now he and his cell mate Miguel must find a way to break out of prison and rescue his girlfriend before they become one of the living dead.

Jared and Miguel escape StoneGate Penitentiary and find refuge in a hospital with other survivors. They find that the curse has spread from out of the prison and to the surrounding areas. They make a plan to rescue other survivors and to find Jared's friend Will, but little do they know that the undead corpse of Warden Steed himself has also been reanimated and seeks to enslave them to the walking dead.
