Reiner Knizia is a German board game designer, widely regarded as one of the most prolific and influential designers in modern board gaming. Trained as a mathematician, he is known for designs that combine elegant rules with strong mathematical foundations. His games have won or been nominated for numerous international awards, including the Spiel des Jahres. Notable works include Ra, Modern Art, Tigris & Euphrates, Lost Cities, and Lord of the Rings.
