Widow Katrin, mother of two, meets the love of her life, Max, by chance and wants to follow him to the Namibian bush hospital Guguletho. When she arrives, Max has just had an accident, leaving her with the children Neo and Lindiwe. Katrin plucks up all her courage and decides to work as a doctor again.

The lively farmer's daughter Anna Christeiner lives with her mother and her little daughter Elise on a picturesque alpine pasture in East Tyrol. In the village, however, Anna has been hostile for quite some time. The reason: It defies the plans of the municipal council to open up the region for mass tourism. In the charming Johannes Wallner Anna first thinks she has found an ally - until she discovers that he is actually working for the unscrupulous tourist group. Only through the love of Anna does Johannes begin to question the plans of his clients.

The old Flender farmer wants to force his daughter Wally into a marriage of convenience with her childhood sweetheart, the wealthy farmer Josef Gruber. This is the only way to save the Flenders' heavily indebted farm. But the stubborn daughter resists the courtship of Josef, who has serious intentions. At the shooting festival, Wally and her suitor get into a bitter argument, during which the wealthy farmer insults the unruly girl as "Geierwally", referring to her tame, hand-reared golden eagle. Deeply disappointed by her father's intrigues and the wrath of her old love, Wally seeks refuge in a lonely mountain hut. But Josef does not give up so easily. He has his heart set on winning the heart of Geierwally after all.
