Alloire Thomas

Reesa is a young woman who was raised in the Lowcountry of South Carolina by her grandmother, Myra, after her mother's death. Now an adult, Reesa is married to a loving partner, Khari, and is pregnant with her first child. The Gullah Geechee Urban legend of a boo hag plagues this pregnancy. This creature feeds on the stress and grief of families and at a time like this in Reesa's life, it has latched on tight.

When a group of friends remove a mystic totem from what looks like an abandoned alter, they unknowingly initiate a sacrificial ritual that must be completed.

A visual poem that follows the cyclical decline of a woman's mental health.
