What does it mean, to go to the movies? Why have people been going for over one hundred years? I set out to celebrate movie theaters and their manifold magic. So I walked in the footsteps of young Paul Dédalus, as if in a filmgoer’s coming-of-age story. Memories, fiction, discoveries come together in an irrepressible torrent of pictures.

Uzès, South of France. A family home, a burning oasis in a scorched world. Rita and Elio reunite and sink into a gentle torpor. As time slows down, the refuge begins to crumble, the crack widens.

Lola, a young animal rights activist, mysteriously travels to Paris during the Salon de l'Agriculture. As she settles into her hotel room, where nothing works, she calls on the room boy, Felix, a whimsical young man who is having a panic attack on his bed.
