Bernhard Wohlfahrter

A family reunites in a holiday home in Styria during the run-up to Christmas for the first time in years. The gathering gradually spirals out of control, old conflicts resurface, new tensions arise, and a parcel – which under no circumstances should be opened – finally throws the evening into complete disarray.

A giant pumpkin on top the church tower: This extraordinary incident distracts the beautiful village idyll of Öblarn, starts gossip going and begins a search for the culprit that is at once aimless and overly broad.

Munich in summer. Pensioner Gerd roams the streets collecting empty returnable bottles. He meets the working, partying and bathing city dwellers as an open and friendly man who always has a funny saying at the ready. But not everyone seems to be well-disposed towards Gerd. Bernhard Wohlfahrter's sensitive short fiction film unobtrusively criticizes society and questions privileges.
