Saadat Khan

The Directors is a collaboration between artist Marcus Coates and five individuals in recovery from different lived experiences of psychosis. Positioned behind the camera, each of them directs Coates in a filmed re-staging of a particular episode from their life.

Set in the 90s, seventeen-year-old Vivek is sent away from home to attend a rigorous program to prepare for the highly competitive IIT entrance exams. Over two years, Vivek goes through the motions of Indian adolescence, but it is his parents who do the growing up.

A comedy short film about a guy named Matt, who loves his job as a cook in a chicken shop. And not only that, his fried chicken is incredible. But when Matt falls for a vegan activist protesting outside the shop, he unexpectedly vows to be vegan for one week to impress her. This results in a major identity crisis and sends him spiraling into the unknown: he doesn't know who he is without the chicken.
