Single mother Pam Voorhees has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before. After her successful career in Chicago, Elsbeth Tascioni, an astute but unconventional attorney, utilizes her singular point of view to make unique observations and corner brilliant criminals alongside the NYPD.

In late-90s suburbia, a lonely teenager meets a girl at school who introduces him to a mysterious late-night T.V. show — a vision of a supernatural world pulsing beneath their own. As time goes on, however, questions begin to arise about why the show sometimes seems more real than their own lives. In the pale glow of the television, their view of reality begins to crack.

Mona DeLiza and Jean D’Arc, known to their imaginary fans as 'Zhe Zhe' (pronounced jhee jhee or ʒi ʒi) , are draggy campy 'girls' who'd do anything for a moment in the spotlight, even if it means venturing out into the mass hysteria of post-apocalipstick New York to do battle with vegan fascists, celebutante video artists, trust-fun-derground benefactor blonds, seductive comedians, nostalgic punks, Donald Trump(s), slactivist political protesters, transplant cool hunters, and the Middle Eastern oil industry. Trapped in the myth of 'ye olde Hollywood', stuck in the dream of a rock and roll suicide and utterly addicted to identity itself, Mona and Jean, already legends to each other, will achieve immortal fame if it kills them.

Follows a group of friends over the course of one chaos-filled night as addiction, buried resentments and dreams of leaving their hometown threaten to divide them forever. As the night progresses, tensions rise and loyalties are tested, with each character forced to confront whether they’re destined to repeat the cycles of their hometown or finally break free.

In mid-2000s rural Pennsylvania, a grieving teen sifts through his mother’s MiniDV footage for evidence of the pollution he believes killed her, while his younger sister drifts into a strange, feral grief.
