Josef Khallouf

18 Lebanese filmmakers, driven by the ongoing war in Gaza, transform their personal letters of turmoil into a series of powerful short films, unaware that their own country is on the brink of facing a similar tragic fate.

While one evening he is guarding his aunt's house in an isolated village in Lebanon, Anis will have to pretend to be a thief to save his life during a burglary.

Exiles is a conversation with oneself when the ground slips away beneath our feet. A forced journey, when we would rather remain grounded by our roots; the refusal of an imposed destiny, out of home. A dreamlike vision of a home-island that we cling to; our asylum from chaos.

In a world suspended between dream and death, a girl wanders aimlessly as reality slowly fades away.

The lamb borrows the wolf's mask for bravery. Exposing one's true feelings is never an easy task. The son chooses to confront his ex-militant father, he wants to know, he wants to be sure: "Who are you Daddy? I need to know... Murderer or Hero?" An intimate open letter, sent out from generation to generation, thus setting a pathway for an intriguing confrontation. "The truth hurts, but silence kills."
