The main characters are young people, a boy and a girl. Today’s schoolchildren. Residents of a provincial town. Every morning, at the same bus stop, they would board the same bus, without noticing each other. And then one day… He suddenly saw Her — vulnerable, weak, unable to fight for herself, for her happiness. And she saw Him — open, fearlessly facing everything that life would offer. They experienced what we most desire, but also fear most: love. And not just any love, but first love. The kind that comes once in a lifetime. Fate gave them only three days and four meetings. But that was enough to change their world—and themselves—forever.

16‑year‑old Slavik is a teenager from a well‑off family; he has a beautiful girlfriend and a wealthy friend, with whom he feels grown‑up and uninhibited, while suppressing all his good impulses. Events take us to the beginning of World War II in the small town of Stavrovo. Its unique location, a passing railway and a fork in several roads, proximity to the front line, made it attractive to German troops. They placed a rather large garrison in the city. In the city and in its outskirts, an underground was organized. Most of which were recent graduates of the school. This is a story about two fates, two former schoolchildren - Alexei and Dmitry. The first went underground and tried in every possible way to prevent the invaders, giving his life for his homeland. The second sided with the enemy and became an executioner for his own compatriots.

The most beautiful student, Snezhana, has been at odds for many years with an equally striking teacher who is always picking on her.
