When the cheerful, self-determined Christiane learns after a serious illness that her life is now dependent on a machine, she has to decide whether she wants to give up her beloved independence in order to survive.

The satire tells the story of Tom, a janitor who fears for his self-determination in the face of an elitist mob when he falls asleep at an art auction and wakes up as the artist's latest work.

A depressed history student struggles with the dark side of her mind.
