In the not-too-distant future, a 'synthetic' soldier is about to extinguish his last breath in an abandoned refuge after living the horrors of an endless war over the dominion of Mars. His hatred towards himself and humanity shifts with the arrival of Myrra, a human soldier whose repeated efforts to save him help the Synthetic acquire a purpose and make him understand what it truly means to be 'human'.

Leaving behind the familiarity of Monterrey, a young performer arrives in Mexico City chasing a dream of life on stage. But the city's beauty soon gives way to isolation and doubt, the echoes of a failed relationship following him wherever he goes. Just as he feels most lost, fate intervenes—an unexpected encounter with a muse disguised as a mariachi singer changes him forever.

2041: A babysitter called Elena decides to accompany a lonely man named Javier inside a 'fonda' (small restaurant/diner) in Mexico City. After her companion discovers her true nature, Elena fights to survive against this future's dark portrait personified, testing the limits of her own existence and her humanity.

Filmed over four years, from Mexico City to Chicago, this documentary is a raw and intimate account of the creation of "Corazón Cicatrizado" (Scarred Heart) — an original and gut wrenching play, rooted in Mexico's deepest wounds: Ayotzinapa and Tlatelolco. With testimonies from different artists who lived the process in the flesh, this is the story behind "Corazón Cicatrizado," and the repeated attempts to bring it to life.

In the last days of the pandemic, four young men from Mexico City set out on a trip to Monterrey to meet a talented singer-songwriter and uncover the secret of his success. Part travel log, part intimate portrait, what begins as a fun getaway turns into a chaotic descent into the fears, worries, and dreams of a group of men whose world isn't the one they imagined as children. And as they prepare for a leap that never comes, the four of them long to find answers everywhere… except in the present.
