She appeared on major magazine covers like Vogue and Elle and starred in the film Wild Orchid (1989) opposite Mickey Rourke. Later, she became a prominent advocate for body positivity and eating disorder awareness, sharing her experiences in her memoir Beauty, Disrupted (2011).
