Oswaldo and Biaani's friendship got distant after she became a Muxe-who are considered a third gender in Zapotec culture. When Oswaldo comes to her asking for help poaching turtle nests for extra income, their old friendship is rekindled.

Santiago, reluctant owner of a rifle, is approached by Don Ceballo for help in getting rid of a problematic dog. Meanwhile, their tragedy-stricken village witnesses the Spirit of late beloved singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel.
