Jasmin Paris

Jasmin Paris MBE is a historic British ultrarunner, veterinary scientist, and environmental advocate who has redefined the limits of human endurance. Born in Manchester in 1983, she grew up exploring the Peak District, which sparked her lifelong passion for mountain running. Paris achieved global acclaim in March 2024 by becoming the first-ever female finisher of the world's most grueling ultramarathon, the Barkley Marathons. She shattered the 38-year barrier by completing the brutal 100-mile course with just 99 seconds to spare before the strict 60-hour cutoff. This historic achievement followed her legendary 2019 victory at the 268-mile Montane Spine Race, which she won outright, smashing the overall course record by more than 12 hours while famously expressing breastmilk for her infant daughter at checkpoints. Her athletic resume also includes multiple British Fell Running Championships and a Skyrunner World Series title. Beyond her elite athletic career, Paris leads a distinguished academic and professional life in Scotland. She works as a small animal vet and serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Royal School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh, where her PhD research focuses on complex feline liver diseases. She balances her career and training with family life, residing near Edinburgh with her husband and fellow endurance runner, Konrad Rawlik, and their two children. Driven by a deep commitment to the planet, Paris co-founded The Green Runners, an eco-conscious movement that encourages runners to make sustainable choices in travel, kit, and diet. In recognition of her extraordinary contributions to fell and long-distance running, she was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by the British Royal Family in October 2024.
