The film explores how societal expectations, school situations (the titular "exam"), and social class differences affect the child's psyche. It sensitively portrays how the carefree interaction and trust between two children can be damaged by the competitive spirit and social status modeled by the adult world.

The short film is about a boy who wants to buy the attention of his classmates by means of expensive objects that he cannot afford.
