Marjorie, a Haitian woman in her sixties on the cusp of retirement, leaves her husband and forges new friendships to brave a new life in a world where women like her are invisible. With her daughter imploring her to stay, her husband attempting to win her back and friends encouraging her to spread her wings, Marjorie seeks to regain her independence and discover who she really is.

On December 23, the holiday season is in full force and the destinies of strangers intertwine: a hardened bachelor wants to find love; a couple expect their first child; a singer returns to the stage after a break; a mother tries to organize the perfect Christmas; a teen carries a big secret; a man struggles with the modern world; and the new manager of a large hotel must prove her worth.

Two incarcerated women in a secured forest of the North of Quebec are subjected to hard labour of reforestation. Confronted to their body’s instrumentalisation and its underhand control, they enjoy a little area of freedom they managed to create thanks to a prison guard particularly empathetic towards them.

Pending an eviction from their landlord, a brother and a sister have no choice but to take matters into their own hands to come up with the money and stay out of the streets.
