The children of the Pacific Island families who migrated to New Zealand in the 1950s, 60s, 70s and even 80s have grown up. They have changed the cultural landscape of New Zealand. Their presence has shaped New Zealand’s identity both nationally and internationally as a Pacific Nation. This is a record of the times and trails of these migrant families.

‘Myths and Maidens’ is a love letter to fafine Moana, looking at some of our trauma, challenges and inequities across Pasifika, and how in the face of this, the celebration of ourselves is an act of colonial resistance.
