Guy Marignane

Lola, a young, energetic and cheerful student lives in Paris. She’s preparing to sit her law thesis, and works part-time at Chloroville, “Our green fingers look after your interior plants”. She has split up with Simon, a lawyer in his thirties who is always busy defending “the trial of his life”. Their stormy relationship held Lola back, and although they’ll love each other forever, it won’t be on an everyday basis.

In a crumbling military outpost, Woyzeck—a weary soldier—drifts between duty and despair, haunted by silence and the wind. His wife Marie, restless and unloved, falls for the pompous Drum Major, igniting a spiral of humiliation and betrayal. Mocked by his superiors and beaten by his rival, Woyzeck retreats to the pond where only his child offers comfort. As madness and sorrow converge, he makes a tragic choice on a moonless, blood-stained night—finally expressing the love he never could.

During the last years of his life, the Marquis de Sade was imprisoned. Alone in his wanderings, this man of letters wrote almost every day. We discover a man of exquisite complexity: his painful introspection reveals a man in love, a visionary, but also a fragile and terribly human being... this story flies in the face of presuppositions about Sade.
