Göran Lamm

Six episodes about people who all live on the fringes of society. Documentary filmmaker Staffan Lamm pauses before some events in his life. He talks about his family with his schizophrenic uncle as a common thread. The maternal uncle's illness has haunted and worried Staffan over the years, and he reflects on the impact of the legacy and how it inevitably leaves its mark on social life, work and dreams.

A film about early separation, self-experienced loss and isolation, portrayed through my uncle Göran, who already at the age of seven was diagnosed as mentally ill and sent away. His absence fom my life, my fantasies about our similarities. My father’s disappearance, my absent mother who wholeheartedly worked with others in need.

In 1984, ten Swedish directors joined together in the trading company Filmgrupp 10 HB to jointly produce a period document in the form of film.
