In 1973, Dursun Çavuş, who lived in Adıyaman, was a simple citizen who made a living as a postman. Things got complicated when his son Abuzer fell in love with the daughter of the mayor, Reşat Ağa. Dursun Çavuş, who had fallen out with Ağa, was persuaded by his wife Server and his friends to retire and run for mayor.Throughout the election campaign, thousands of Adıyaman residents who never left Dursun Çavuş's side were certain he would become mayor.
