Power Boothe

A “narrative” film centered on young artists living in New York City around 1979. The film is about a certain stage in the development of a young artist confronting the real world in terms of her own idealistic notions of what art is supposed to do. You never see her. She is the camera’s eye and when someone says to the camera “My darling be careful”, it could be addressing her or you the spectator. The subjective camera set-up challenges your position as an impartial observer. - BM

An abstract dance film that meditates on the nature of the moon, eggs, circular saws, and love. All make sense as a kind of revolving surrealist wheel of fortune.

Based on a story of a man who goes through a series of frustrations, who seeks help, but then finds escape. The film images follow the story through a series of meditations on the most incidental and marginal visual events. It is the details that surround the action which constitute the main focus.

A meditation on the interwoven nature of music, perception and experience. Images are built from superimposing exposures in the camera to form a kind of dream narrative which has its own logic.

A non-verbal dialogue between one woman and herself. The screen is split with the woman in black on one side and herself in white on the other. The film dwells on the threshold of self-awareness and deals with the frustrations found in the inherent limits of self-awareness.

An unedited film built up from layers of superimposed images. The lit match is the light source and the image; its duration also structures time.
