Maada Mambu Kaikai

War veteran and former hunter soldier Niels Oxen, Denmark's most decorated soldier ever. Sent home with war trauma, he tries to create meaning in life and to make everyday life fit together.

As a young foster child searches for belonging in a black barbershop in Copenhagen, he finds himself struggling to be black enough in a place that should feel like home.

Summer in Copenhagen. Best friends Ronja and Serb are restless souls in their mid-twenties struggling to navigate life. As one joins a secret activist network, and the other falls in love with a mysterious girl, a series of increasingly unlikely events unfold, and the line between reality and fiction begins to erode. Timelines diverge and doppelgängers appear out of nowhere in an endless array of bright summer nights, where everyone is equally chasing euphoria and trying to find meaning.

What happens when we meet in the street? Suddenly, mistakenly, intimately. Estranged, rushed, too much, too little, too late. Smiles, small talk, and promises.
