An engineer, a musician, and a salesman are heading off on summer vacation in an old VW and a rented caravan. The confirmed bachelors want to enjoy their freedom. But the musician falls in love with a hotel telephone operator, and the engineer with a merchant's daughter. This leads to turmoil, with lots of fun and music!

The students at a school of hotel management repurpose the institute into a hotel with a show stage, double-cross the principal, the groundskeeper, and a grumpy millionaire, and cause so much mischief and confusion that, in the end, there is only one thing left to do: laughing to the bitter end!

Soon after their arrival, the Bockerer has to realize that “Communism with a human face” is still an idle wish.

Susanne, the pretty landlady from the Lahn River, has an equally attractive sister in Hungary named Ilona. Ilona is in dire straits: Her uncle is desperate to match her with a French nobleman. Meanwhile, a sexual emergency has broken out among the Swabians stationed in Hungary.

The German innkeeper Susan, now leading an acting troupe, travels to Italy and uses feminine wiles to undo an assassination plot against Napoleon, and rescue a local count (a great romancer) from his own enemies.
