The film consists of a series of tightly interlinked vignettes, the most sustained of which details the story of a man and a woman who are passionately in love. Their attempts to consummate their passion are constantly thwarted, by their families, by the Church and bourgeois society in general.

Viridiana is preparing to start her life as a nun when she is sent, somewhat unwillingly, to visit her aging uncle, Don Jaime. He supports her; but the two have met only once. Jaime thinks Viridiana resembles his dead wife. Viridiana has secretly despised this man all her life and finds her worst fears proven when Jaime grows determined to seduce his pure niece. Viridiana becomes undone as her uncle upends the plans she had made to join the convent.

In Madrid, under Queen Isabel II reign, rebellions are frequent events. Fearing that her niece Rosita will abandon her true love and enter into a marriage of convenience, doña Juanita tells her the story of when, many years ago, she fell in love with an accountant who worked in a circus.

Don Juan leaves Venice and gets back to Seville, his home city. When he arrives there, he learns that his father is dead and has left all his properties to him, on codition that he marries Doña Inés. Don Juan makes up a former marriage, but when he meets her he becomes fascinated by her beauty.

Following meetings between Spain and the United States a delegation of a mining company arrives to Granada in search of uranium. The company contacted with the landowners, who agree to sell less of them. Such owner refuses because his ground a treasure supposedly hidden Muslim and refuses to sell them to Margaret, representative of the company. When he refused, Margaret convinces the owner to locate the treasure on your own and sell it in case you find it ... but love gets in his plans.

Anselmo is a young anthropologist who is tormented by jealousy, and although his wife Camilla does not give reasons, keeps a close eye on her. After consulting a psychiatrist, the doctor says the problem is him and not his wife. So he plots to verify, once and for all, if his suspicions are true. By chance he meets an old friend, Lotario, who seems the ideal person to carry out his plans. What Anselmo does not know is that his friend is a real womanizer who ends seducing his wife.

In the resort of La Molina an international competition is held and ski racers from different countries come to Barcelona. They become friends, especially Nuria and Ramon, but Nuria already has a boyfriend

Spain, late 19th century. When, in a time of great political instability, Flora, a beautiful young woman, starts working in a ministry doing a job that supposedly only a man can do, a great scandal breaks out.

Josephine and Antonio have reached a delicate economic balance after marriage. The salary of lawyer from him, and wins her in the hospital, allows them to survive and fantasize about some freak. The situation is complicated by the news that Josephine is pregnant. Ahead of the debacle that may involve having a "child who eats everything, including food," Josephine teaches the baby still in her womb, higher education courses in order to save some money in schools. Meanwhile, Antonio enters the underworld scene, looking for customers who offer their services as a lawyer.

A French crew is working on location in Spain. But when they want to film a scene in which Gérardn the male star is supposed to be swimming across a river, the matinée idol proves water-shy and the director decides to double him. The one that replaces him is Antonio, a local fisherman. The latter does the job so well that he is chosen as a stunts man for the whole film. This does not please Lola,his fiancée; all the more as Antonio has fallen in love with Martine, the female star.

Since he wants get married, the young Carabel, who is employed in a real estate agent, decides to ask their bosses for a raise in order to maintain his future wife. However, all he gets is to be fired. He then realizes that honesty is what has led him to unemployment and decides to change his life and live outside the law. He plots to steal the safe from his former company

An expulsive star of a variety theatre cannot decide between the love of an honest archaeology professor and the love of an extravagant official who turns himself into a cabaret comedian in his sparetime.

Shortly before leaving his small town to go to the big city to study, young Daniel recalls his childhood, surrounded by family and friends.

Spain, late 19th century. Judge Javier Zarco finds in a cemetery a skull pierced by a nail and suspects that a murder has been committed.

Doña Nati, the owner of a house of prostitutes, takes a little vacation to attend his niece's first communion in the village. She is accompanied on the trip by three of his pupils: Barbara, Mercedes and Eva who pretend to be her friends. But soon, men realize what they are and begin to try to flirt with them. Doña Nati makes a splendid gift to the people and thus wins the favor of its inhabitants.
