Mara Meba

Mudos testigos is a cinematographic collage made from all the surviving material of Colombian silent films, re-editing the images in such a way as to create a single imaginary film: the impossible love story of Efraín and Alicia that traces the convulsive first half of the twentieth century in Colombia. Compiled by the late Luis Ospina and finished posthumously by Jeronimo Atehortúa.

A young and beautiful woman is soon to be married. However, her plans are complicated by the attraction she begins to feel for the painter who paints her portrait, who is also a boxer.

"The plot of the film, although it has no local color, as it would have been to our liking, is something very human that happens quite frequently in this century full of vanities, of a life of useless sacrifices to appear to have a wealth that one is far from possessing".
