Alonso takes refuge in a field, seeking to forget his past and recover from the wounds that El Merchi left him. The men he worked with begin to be murdered, Alonso returns to the city, not knowing that he has also been a target of the mafia.

In a violent city, one man will fight for what he believes. His nickname is the Merchi and he enters the dark world of moneylenders and debt collectors to earn quick money to try and save his ailing father. His work as a collector requires him to press the debtors hard, but the Merchi is incapable of hurting people, which causes no end of problems with Alonso, his violent and sadistic partner.
