Qian Ning

A rebellious young boy is sent to a temple for troubled teens and meets a mysterious creature by the lake while discovering the wild beast lurking in everyone’s heart.

Jinquan, a devoted temple guardian and spiritual medium, awoke to find his cherished Buddha gone one day. As he searched, he encountered a mysterious young man, who was suspected of the theft yet strangely attuned to the Buddha's essence. Now, a haunting thought took root in Jinquan's mind: Did the Buddha betray him? Facing his deepest fears, he must grapple with faith, betrayal, and his vulnerability.

She returns from overseas to see her critically ill father for the last time. In the quarantine hotel, her isolated life is like being stranded on a deserted island, intertwined with memories of her father from childhood. She sets fire to the room, but the memories can never be cut off.

Grandpa escaped from the nursing home! But when his daughter and grandson go looking for him, they encounter old people who have turned into zombies! How will the guilt-ridden boy face his zombie grandpa when his treacherous journey of zombie escape is intertwined with memories of his grandfather's illness and how they abandoned him?

In Goodbye Again, a mother has to deal with one of the most heartbreaking events as a parent: saving a drug addict child. Coming home for dinner and facing her demure mother, the agitated daughter alternates between derisive manipulation and loving care, oblivious to the uncommonly preoccupied and nervous mother who nibbles at the bitter melon without a word of reproach. Filled with tension and deceptively simple, the very short drama is a powerful portrayal of mother-daughter dynamics in a modern single-parent Chinese family.

Little blue pieces of fluff fall off from a fuzzy sweater. A girl cannot get rid of them, they’re spreading across her body like an epidemic. Metaphorical story from the age of Covid.
