On a young waitress’s birthday, the perplexing appearance of one of her deceased mother’s homemade cakes deeply troubles her. Over her shift that evening, surrounded by happy families in the little restaurant where she works, memories of her mother crowd in, and her attempts to repress her emotions grow ever more difficult.

Long-time friends Vanja, Alex, Liz and Evie go on a camping trip together. Something is in the air between the four women. It soon becomes clear: it is the abortion that Vanja has just had. This experience puts their friendship to the test. Alex in particular has great difficulty dealing with it and standing by her best friend. However, her inadequacy is based on completely different feelings.

In this dark comedy two exiled angels must document suicides for eternity. One has lost his faith, while the other, knows nothing of his role. Confronted with human suffering, they question pain, faith and existence, between dark humour and profound reflection.
