Ferhat (49), a factory manager in Istanbul, and Handan (45), a bank manager, decide to have a child through surrogacy with Lia (28), a young artist of Georgian and Ukrainian descent. Shortly after their daughter Ada (1) is born, war breaks out between Russia and Ukraine. As a result, Lia is forced to stay in Istanbul with Ferhat and Handan for a while longer. Believing that surrogacy is the formula that will take her to Europe, Lia does not want to leave Ada.

Loving Istanbul couple Ayşe and Cemal need only a child to complete their life together, but they cannot conceive. To salvage Cemal’s pride, they resort to illegal means to procure a baby. This wild grab at a more perfect life proves their undoing, leading the couple to spiral toward separate futures. The couple's estrangement is intertwined with the film’s parallel narrative, in which a distant and neglectful single mom is raising her little boy, Can.

A young woman of about 17 years old, named Meryem (Ozgu Namal), has been raped, and her village's customs call for her to be killed to restore honor and dignity to her family and village. The eldest son of the village leader, Cemal (Murat Han), is ordered to take Meryem to Istanbul and kill her, but at the last minute he cannot complete the task.

Arif, who is trying to write his first book, believes that life contains many unanswerable questions, especially about women and relationships. But when Müzeyyen appears unexpectedly, everything he has ever known or tried to learn is suddenly turned upside down.
