José Antonio Aguirre

Caudillo is a documentary film by Spanish film director Basilio Martín Patino. It follows the military and political career of Francisco Franco and the most important moments of the Spanish Civil War. It uses footage from both sides of the war, music from the period and voice-over testimonies of various people.

Report produced by the Propaganda Section of the Government of Euzkadi, showing the funeral honors for the former commander of chaplains of the Basque Army, with José Antonio Aguirre at the head of the mourners. The film sought to undermine the justification of the Civil War as a crusade by the rebel generals and Spanish bishops.
