Sahra Gümüş

The story centers on the life of Kenan—son of the Kozans, one of Çukurova’s long-established families—as it transforms after he meets the love of his life. The narrative begins in Germany and unfolds within the world of Adana, a place defined by strong family ties.

Tutunamayanlar (The Misfits) is a 2020 Turkish absurdist dark comedy set in a quirky Istanbul neighborhood. Tarık — a man who has never held a job in his life — falls head over heels for İrem during a job interview. With nowhere else to go, İrem moves into his neighborhood and begins working at the local book café. What follows is a sharply funny, offbeat slice-of-life comedy about misfits, lovable losers, and the chaotic beauty of going nowhere fast.

A childhood dream carried over from the past to the present, of difficult lives in difficult geographies, of those who destroyed themselves and their surroundings while protecting their roots. The love for children, a story of impossible loves, of those who were saved from the brink of death; the story of Ada Masalı and of being honourable.
