A journalist descends into the dark underbelly of the Iranian holy city of Mashhad as she investigates the serial killings of sex workers by the so called "Spider Killer", who believes he is cleansing the streets of sinners.

Iranian female judokas Leila and her coach Maryam, travel to the Judo World Championship, intent on bringing home Iran’s first gold medal. Midway through the Judo World Championships, they receive an ultimatum from the Islamic Republic ordering Leila to fake an injury and lose, or she will be branded a traitor of the state. With her own and her family’s freedom at stake, Leila is faced with an impossible choice: comply with the Iranian regime as her coach Maryam implores her to do, or fight on, for the gold.

The film tells the story of a reclusive taxi driver in Tehran in the days leading up to an earthquake. He has chosen to distance himself from society and to be passive so as not to be hurt. Finally one of his passengers gives him enough motivation to act and bring about a change in his life.

An imaginative dreamer university named Garoos professor falls in love with a student who resembles her teacher in this manner. Love story is endangered when a business competitor sets Garoos up for unethical behavior.

'Resident of the Middle Floor' tells the quirky tale of a depressive writer (Shahab Hosseini) struggling for inspiration. He immerses himself into each new idea, playing the roles of his characters before our eyes. Slowly, these fantasies begin to intersect with his own life, blurring the line between his stories' worlds and his own failing existence. Will he ever be able to figure out the story he wants to tell? A throughly entertaining character study that is reminiscent of Walter Mitty's world.
