Nela graduated from a prestigious Les Ateliers Du Sudden school in Paris. She then went on to gather new knowledge at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Los Angeles and at the Studio 4. After that she came back to Poland, where she attended the acting school in Olsztyn. She continues to work at the theatre. She speaks fluent French, English, Polish. She also learned Swedish and Italian.

Determined to help twelve Jewish workers, she decides to shelter them in the safest place she can think of – the basement of the German Major's house. Over the next eight months, Irena uses her wit, humour and immense courage to hide her friends as long as possible.
