On the night before a man she cares for leaves for Detroit, a young Black woman navigates desire, emotional safety, and uncertainty as the outside world seeps into her apartment—until they imagine a sanctuary that allows presence without surrendering themselves.

Alone in grieving the disappearance of her daughter 4 years prior, Venus makes a pilgrimage to see her estranged father after hearing him on public radio discussing a wormhole in the Pacific Ocean.

Latine twentysomething, Gema, is forced to confront the looming threat of gentrification head-on — after having no choice but to let an overeager stranger move in or risk being evicted. The uneasy peace soon turns sinister, exposing her to something far more invasive.

A digitally-addicted twentysomething experiences a literal moment of release in the middle of sex, realizing that the messiest moments in life might actually be the most revealing.

CONFLUENCE is a meditation on ancestry and identity through the diasporic lens of Asian American and queer experiences filmed during moonroom's 2019 PHASE, a showcase series celebrating Asian Pacific Islander and Desi American Heritage Month with underground events throughout Los Angeles and surrounding areas. This hypnotic mix of ethereal images and heartfelt, first-person testimonies explores the inner turmoil of being othered while persevering with creative expression, shattering both community and perceptual barriers.

A lonely gay black man summons his soulmate through a DIY seance, only to manifest a straight white man from the 1970s –forcing both to confront the ache of love, memory, and the fluidity of identity across time.
