People is a film shot behind closed doors in a workshop/house on the outskirts of Paris and features a dozen characters. It is based on an interweaving of scenes of moaning and sex. The house is the characters' common space, but the question of ownership is distended, they don't all inhabit it in the same way. As the sequences progress, we don't find the same characters but the same interdependent relationships. Through the alternation between lament and sexuality, physical and verbal communication are put on the same level. The film then deconstructs, through its repetitive structure, our relational myths.

Ambroise, a young doctor specializing in sleep disorders, spends the night with a patient suffering from violent sleepwalking. Isolated in his mountain chalet, he searches for answers to his nocturnal behavior. While reason dictates that she should leave as soon as possible, her obstinacy and fascination with the patient lead her to push the experiment further than she had planned.

In an employment office undergoing restructuring, Hélène, the deputy director, receives an alarming e-mail from a desperate unemployed woman. The woman threatens to kill herself on the premises of the agency. With the help of her team, Hélène tries to untangle the internal dysfunctions at the origin of the case in order to prevent the irreparable. Time is running out.

Rim, a Tunisian woman, works in France as an interpreter for asylum-seekers. Every day, she translates the stories of exiled men and women whose voices question her own history.

Arthur wants Apolline, Apolline doesn't, but she won't bother to explain why. At a wedding party, there are both sitting at the bachelor's table. Apolline tells him stories about other men and her childhood.
