Lady Camden

Washed-up TV guest star Blake de Troy is rescued after a car crash by his devoted fan, Antoinette Funk, who lives in the Florida Everglades. Believing he's been kidnapped, Blake initially tries to escape, but after the death of his life partner and manager, Jimmy, he realizes he has nowhere else to go and begins exploiting the situation as a potential publicity stunt. Their increasingly dysfunctional arrangement spirals into a dark comedy about celebrity, loneliness, obsession, and fandom.

In this rags to riches origin story, Lady Camden struggles to manage the demands of her freshly minted international fame, while Rex is forced to come to terms with the troubling childhood he left behind in Camden which drove him to so desperately seek joy, fantasy and escape through the performing arts.

Overlaid atop a delicately performed ballet duet, drag artist Lady Camden describes the art form of dance as a creative liberation from childhood bullying, and an indelible part of her self-expression.
