The documentary tells the life story of Margot Friedländer, a 101-year-old Berlin native who survived the Holocaust and was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class, in January of this year.

Lilly Borchert has big plans after graduating from high school and joins the navy as a medical officer to travel the world and prepare for her aspirations to study medicine. But the rules are tough and the nights are short. She finds it hard to make friends in the close-knit crew under Captain Krug. Cadet Klara in particular makes life difficult for her. The film negotiates the margins in the relationship of two women between work, friendship and love. Cultural differences and definitions of freedom blur the boundaries between power, dependence and desire.

27-year-old Lena (Thea Rasche), an outgoing elementary school teacher from Berlin, accompanies her 29-year-old boyfriend Ole (Paul Boche) and his brother Lasse (Tom Böttcher) to the village where he grew up. But what initially feels like a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life soon puts the couple's relationship to an existential test: in the old, emotionally barren environment, Ole changes and reveals traits that were previously unknown to Lena, which not only call the relationship into question, but also become increasingly dangerous for Lena.
