Is there a risk to a child's welfare if a girl is denied the opportunity to learn to hear? Or should parents be free to decide which life is best for their child? A difficult case - even for an experienced judge like Jolanda Helbig.

After a long time, a deaf boy meets his own father, who is a musician and does not speak sign language. Over a long weekend, both of them learn that they speak a common language through music.
