Vienna in the eighties. An accidental meeting in a restaurant. She, Hannah, is Jewish and has a live-in lover, a young and successful architect. He, Friedrich, is a German and lives permanently in Vienna. Two worlds collide with another, begin to become entangled in each other. Friedrich too, has his problems. He is a "German", which fascinates and repels Hannah at the same time. She tries to get over her confusion by being ironic and flirtatious. Simultaneously, what she has tried to suppress breaks through in flashbacks...

Johannes, a doctor of physics, travels with his doctoral supervisor to a scientific congress in the Alps. A series of mysterious incidents occur on site. He meets Karin, a mysterious jazz pianist who seems to know more about him than she can know. Suddenly, mysterious deaths begin to pile up and Johannes tries to uncover the secret under the mountain.

The three daughters of the Dessau merchant Sellmann move with their father to Prague in 1936, where he accepted a position as director of the Böhmische Landesbank. For the three different women begins a new life, which accompanies the film over a period of ten years.

Lawyer Thomas Neumann is extremely successful in his career and happily married to his wife Bettina. Nevertheless, he has a mistress on the side, who one day reveals to him that she wants him to have a child. Thomas agrees, but a sperm test reveals that he is infertile. Now he asks himself the question: who is the real father of his children? His brother Johannes, a priest, helps him to find out the truth. Thomas suspects two former friends with whom he and Bettina used to go on vacation. He invites them to his home so that he can carry out comparative studies in peace, as genetic testing didn't exist back then. One friend has gone mad, the other is blind. The two of them cause Thomas' household a great deal of confusion, especially as he has to entertain an important business partner from overseas at his home.

The political topic of surveillance, a subject that has often been discussed in the shared student apartment, also becomes intertwined with Albert’s perceived threat. Under the rebellious slogan “Make Yourself Unrecognizable!”, the roommates have been developing little sabotage actions. For Albert, whose fear of control and loss of identity is already growing, the personal and political levels merge. His fear of loss of control and identity develops into a journey between mistrust, identity, and the question of whether reality and paranoia can still be distinguished from each other.

In collaboration with Regnier, Dominik Graf, Constantin Lieband, and Felix von Boehm have adapted this book into a polyphonic essay film of the same name – almost three hours in duration – that takes a meticulous look at the contradictory biographies of Hans Fallada, Gottfried Benn, Erich Kästner, Ina Seidel and Will Vesper.

Eleven years ago, an 8-year-old girl disappeared from a small German town on the German-Czech border. Although her body was never found, nor were there any traces of blood or DNA evidence, a mentally-disabled man was coerced to confess to the crime. Even though he withdrew his admission of guilt two days later, the forced confession was enough to convince the ruling judge. The responsible investigator Altendorf was discharged so that the investigation could be sped along by another colleague.

The leitmotif for this film portrait is Oliver Storz’s autobiographical novel Die Freibadclique, which tells the story of a group of friends drafted into the army as fifteen-year-olds just before the end of the Second World War. Again and again, Dominik Graf reads passages from this account and, by juxtaposing them with clips from Storz’s films, reveals the echoes of the past they contain. Whether in his more experimental television plays or his Willy Brandt film "Im Schatten der Macht", Storz always provided new perspectives on the war and on Germany itself. Via a series of personal interviews Graf held with the journalist, director and producer shortly before the latter’s death in summer 2011, we are introduced to an analytical, unconventional man who witnessed the course of history. Graf takes up Storz’s reflections in his commentary, throwing light on an unexpected history of German television.

Two bank robbers hold the clerks hostage and demand 3 million German marks as ransom. What the police do not realize is that the true criminal mastermind watches them from outside the bank, anticipating every move.

The plan is simple: the three generals Weingarten, Ludovico and Klotz from San Chaco set a hitman on their doubles Stephan, Kralle and Peter, who live in Germany, in order to fake their deaths and also lighten the state coffers by 300 million dollars. But as is the case with simple plans in movies, they usually don't work. This 1980s curiosity was a commercial flop and ultimately led to the break-up of the band Trio.
