Yakushev was a 'superstar' on the Soviet Union hockey team during the 1970s, winning two Olympic gold medals and 7 world championships, also being the leading Soviet scorer during the classic 1972 Summit Series. He is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and the International Hockey Hall of Fame.
