Talkie remake of a 1927 silent about the adventures of the notorious womaniser and venetian adventurer Chevalier Giacomo Casanova. Action starts in Venice and then the plot takes Casanova to France and Russia.

Gaston de Méville has written a libel against Madame de Pompadour and her Royal Lover, King Louis XV. But the Marchioness is all the less mad at Garston as she has fallen for him and she does all she can to save him from the punishment he normally deserves. One night, while is performing in a play at the Palace, he is denounced. But the King is merciful to Gaston and his content to banish him to Canada.

A beautiful woman falls in love with a tenor giving her singing lessons. The evening when she is to appear in public for the first time, the tenor is called back to his country where his daughter has just drowned. He loses his voice and his mind. The young woman finds him one day, dying.
