Former Amsterdam police detective Floris Wolfs has been transferred to the police department of the south-Dutch country town Maastricht. Tropenjaren is a comedy about the whirlwind of new parenthood and a former life that’s gone for good. When Jelle and his wife Rosa welcome their first child, a new chapter unfolds. The young parents strive to do their best for their daughter Stella while also trying to keep their work lives and relationship as lively and ambitious as ever. Nights out and parties, however, quickly give way to diapers and babysitters. In short, the couple is gearing up for the tropenjaren—the intense early years of parenting.

Against the backdrop of a seemingly posh hockey club, three middle-aged men are fighting desperately against the passing of time and the new zeitgeist. In their urge to score one more time, the three friends make one mistake after another, which almost leads to their downfall.

We follow the destructive life of 37-year-old Cat. People around her are worried. Cat is not. Due to a great loss within the family, which is largely not talked about, there is barely a sense of family left. Her mother IS a panic attack. Her father writes self-help books.

Critically acclaimed comedy duo Yentl en de Boer takes their absurd fantasy world from the stage to the screen. Does living in a house made entirely out of candy immediately render you untrustworthy? Will we even notice when our last day on earth has started? And isn’t it about time babies start pulling their weight when it comes to household chores? Yentl en de Boer de Serie is a four episode comedyseries combining the best material from their theatre shows with brand new sketches and original songs. Starring: Yentl Schieman and Christine de Boer, who would like to take this opportunity to say hi to their moms.
