After a conflict with a young director, actor Yuri leaves the theater, taking the buffoon's costume of his hero from the play King Lear. The stage character becomes part of the play of Yuri's real life. A drunken mother, a great actress in the past; wife, with a chill in a relationship; and the passengers of his taxi take part in this action.

Young writer Benjamin Mairs returns to Jerusalim Lot, the town of his childhood. Ben meets Susan and falls in love with her. At the same time, a strange and terrible thing happens in the town. The arrival of another stranger to the town has caused the townsfolk to turn into vampires. During the day they sleep in dark corners of their homes, and at night they go out into the streets to find victims.
