In 2009, the corpse of a young woman was found in her apartment. After it was determined by police that she had committed suicide, several others around her had begun to disappear.

One day, her editor, Hayakawa, suggests that she should try writing something other than romance novels for a change. Miki has been wanting to write about a different subject for some time, and she decides to visit an abandoned building to research it.
