A young boy in Miami carries on with his days while the voice of his mother, recently deported, travels through the phone to try to reach him. JASON is about what happens after deportation, the felt absence, the connection that struggles to survive it and the power of a mother’s love.

A classically trained Korean tour-de-force tends and markets her organic crops through the seasons while nurturing connections with her daughter—and the hopes she harbors for the future of the unique life she’s built single-handedly.

Alapine is a lesbian community founded in rural Alabama in the 1970s. This beautifully photographed film explores these “womyn’s” coming-out stories, what inspired them to create a separatist space in the first place, and their concerns for the future of their home.
